Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Forrestdale Primary School

A hidden gem, Forrestdale Primary School’s borders include nature reserves and the Forrestdale Lake; this makes our school home to many unique flora and fauna. We love our open spaces in which our students thrive.

Respect | Responsibility | Resilience

Building our students’ wellbeing through our core values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience is a priority for us at Forrestdale Primary School. We understand students' wellbeing always comes first, so we teach respect by establishing safe and caring relationships. We empower students to be responsible! We do this by encouraging and enabling students to develop resilience. This looks and sounds like learning from mistakes and errors, and this feels like being a confident learner!

We Inspire

Connections in our local community inspire students to make meaningful contributions to society through civic engagement and social action. Working alongside Living Landscapes and Friends of Forrestdale, teachers take advantage of our proximity to Forrestdale Lake to instill in students a sense of responsibility in caring for the local bushland and native wildlife. Students are also involved in creative projects in collaboration with our wider community; the Dale Festival, Kelmscott Show and Forrestdale Little Athletics.

We Create

We enable students to be creative, building sound social skills and achieve academic goals. FPS Students have opportunities to apply what they learn to real life situations, and our dedicated educators put an incredible amount of effort and creativity into the experiences they organise for all student. These have included STEM projects, Loose Parts play, Visual Arts Murals, Dramatic Productions, Music Festivals, growing vegetables for cooking lessons. Projects like these get students excited about coming to school. Coding apps on school iPads and ICT lessons further prepare students for life in the twenty-first century. Our students take pride in their work, feel confident being themselves and continue to build resilience and lasting friendships.

We inspire!

We create!

We care!

We excel!

We invite feedback

Together, students, staff and parents care about our school, and strive to make improvements. For this reason, we encourage regular informal feedback throughout the year.
We also provide a formal opportunity for feedback in our annual, Term 3, National Schools Opinion Survey.
